There’s nothing quite like travelling across the open seas, the wind flowing through your hair, tickling the brand new magical earrings in your ears. The Speedy Sail travels so fast that my ship was easily the first to arrive at the checkpoint. There, I discovered that John Sparrow had arranged for us to participate in a contest of acrobatics and athletics. Thankfully, I had already solved my required sudoku puzzle and was permitted to disembark my ship.
It took a few more hours for the rest of the pirates to arrive with their own ships, each much slower than my own. While Hammond was the last to arrive, a few of the others were still struggling with their sudokus. Because Hammond had already solved his one, he wasn’t disqualified from the competition. In fact, he came fourth, which was pretty good considering his tardiness.
Evidently, these shell earrings make me a bit smarter, because I thought the sudoku I’d been assigned was easy. Apparently, they were actually of extreme difficulty, and I’ve never even done sudoku before today. It all just seemed to make sense to me. So that’s cool, I guess. I wonder what magical properties all the other pirates gained from their earrings.
I don’t know if John Sparrow has a regular store or anything, but if he does, it must be the best shop for Melbourne earrings. Even if they don’t have magical properties, these earrings are simply stunning to look at and wear. They might not magically make me look amazing, but I sure feel it.
Anyway, I didn’t win the acrobatics and athletics competition (Lorenzo Crowder’s earrings make him magically move faster), but I came in third. That’s not too bad, all things considered. As a result, I get to move on to our next destination second. I’m paired with Amory Whitemane for this next part of the adventure, so we’ll see how that goes. Hopefully, we make a good team! Good enough to beat the two teams behind us, at least.
